Community Groups

Community groups are a vital aspect of our church life because, in a church our size, it is sometimes hard to get to know others. In smaller groups, we learn and encourage each other, get to know each other better and care for one another. Usually these groups involve Bible study and prayer, and sometimes food. We encourage all community groups to gather centrally, on the first Wednesday of the month, to meet up and pray together.

Various weekday evenings, weekly or fortnightly

These meet in homes around the city and have a mixture of ages and stages.

Wednesday nights, 7.45pm @ Grosvenor

20s and 30s offers a chance for those in this age group to meet and encourage one another as we read the Bible, pray for each other, and enjoy some light refreshments afterwards. This is a great network for getting to know others and to enjoy various social activities together – some planned, some spontaneous.

Saturday morning, 8am @ Grosvenor – once a month

Men of all ages and stages meet for a light breakfast and to discuss a Christian book. A great way to learn from other men and to enjoy friendship and encouragement.

Friday mornings fortnightly, 10am-12pm @ Grosvenor

Women of all ages and stages meet for coffee and then in groups to learn from God’s word and share wisdom for the challenges of daily life.

Friday night, once a month

For women unable to attend on Friday mornings. These are informal gatherings where women find great help reading God’s word together and seeing its wisdom and relevance to the challenges they face in the workplace.

Thursday 3pm @ Grosvenor, once a quarter

Anyone of retirement age is welcome to join us for tea, coffee and homebaking. This is a chance to meet up and to encourage each other. There is usually a short talk from the bible or a presentation on an interesting topic.

We run various activities for students including a monthly Student Supper after [email protected] and a weekly meal, bible study and social called Student LifeGroups. Find out more here: Students page.

A 7 week course that gives people the opportunity to ask questions about life and faith, and to investigate the basics of Christianity. See Exploring Christianity
