Comfort-able for Christ

Bible Text: 2 Corinthians 1:1-11 |

As Paul begins his second (extant) letter to the Corinthians, he is surprisingly introspective. But Paul shines a spotlight on himself for a very good reason: to show that despite his terrible suffering, God's comfort is still there to be experienced and shared. He reminds the believers at Corinth about the God who provides them grace and peace through Christ (1:2), about God's comfort (1:3-5) and his deliverance (1:8-9). The pulse of his opening paragraphs seems to relay the message: Keep relying on God!
