We understand the Bible teaches that baptism is for believers. Ideally baptism should quickly follow faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus commanded his first followers to make disciples from all nations, to baptise them and to teach them obedience to Jesus (Matthew 28:20). These first followers realised that baptism is for individuals who repent (change their mind & direction) and accept the message of the Lord Jesus (Acts 2:36-41).
